Plan Your Visit to cfar

To ensure a safe, educational, and enjoyable experience for all guests and animal residents, Central Florida Animal Reserve has established the following visit policies and guidelines. Please review this information carefully before your scheduled tour.

Encounter Policies

TOUR FORMAT

All tours at Central Florida Animal Reserve are guided walking tours. This supports both our educational mission and safety requirements. Guests are not permitted to explore the property independently. Having knowledgeable guides available to answer questions and share insight into big cat care adds depth and enjoyment to the experience.

The standard tour covers approximately 300 yards. Other tour formats may involve additional walking depending on the experience.

Photo and Video Policy

Photos are allowed but the conversational nature of the tours makes video difficult due to lost context. For that reason, video is discouraged. CFAR reserves the right to deny either without limitation.

Food and Drink Policy

You are welcome to bring water or purchase on site. Guests are NOT permitted to bring alcohol or be under the influence while on site. No food is permitted on tours. Guests are required to appropriately discard any trash produced.

Smoking and Vaping

Smoking and vaping are not permitted on the tours.

Cancellation Policy

Activities may be postponed or cancelled in cases of unsafe or severe weather. If CFAR cancels an activity, we will work with you to reschedule or apply credit toward a future visit.

Refund Policy

All ticket purchases are non-refundable. If you miss your scheduled tour, we will work with you to move your reservation to another available date and time.

Facilities are available in the Visitor area. There are no public restrooms along the tour path. If you need to step out during a tour, we can accommodate you.

Age Restrictions

Our tours are best experienced from ages 10 and up. To best balance the comfort of guests and residents, children under 10 are not permitted except as part of Private Tours or Family Tours.

Minors 10 to 17 years of age are welcome if accompanied by a responsible adult. Event specific exceptions may apply. Email us at  contact@cflar.org for questions.

Accessibility and Accommodations

Central Florida Animal Reserve offers an ADA-accessible Visitor building. The details below are intended to help you plan your visit.
Tour routes consist of crushed concrete and natural surfaces, which are not suitable for wheelchairs or strollers.

Guests with mobility limitations may request advance seating on CFAR’s electric golf carts at no additional charge. To ensure availability, these requests must be submitted no fewer than five days before your scheduled tour.

Golf cart access is limited, and availability cannot be assured without prior arrangement. The combined weight capacity for cart seating is 350 pounds, including guests and staff.

Guests using golf cart accommodations may be seated on either a rear-facing bench designed for additional support or a forward-facing single seat, depending on preference and availability.

Seating needs should be communicated at the time of reservation or by sending an email to contact@cflar.org. Guests are not permitted to drive golf carts. Only CFAR-operated carts may be used on the property. Personal motorized vehicles are not allowed.

Service animals may not accompany guests on tours but may remain with an adult handler in the Visitor staging area. Please notify CFAR in advance if you plan to bring a service animal.

Companion animals and emotional support animals are not permitted on tours or anywhere on the property. Animals may not remain in vehicles while guests are participating in tours, regardless of weather conditions.

All tours at Central Florida Animal Reserve are guided tours. This helps us fulfill our educational objectives and safety mandates. Visitors are not permitted to walk around on their own. Plus, having knowledgeable staff able to discuss the interesting world of the big cats brings great perspective and fun. Guides are great resources for answering questions and sharing key stories.

Our guided tours are not generally cancelled for light rain. However, in the event of dangerous weather, we will do our best to determine whether tours will be cancelled 24 hours prior to the start time.

If tours are cancelled, you will receive notice via the contact information you provide during reservation. In the event of cancellation on our part, you may opt to transfer your reservation to an alternate day.

We appreciate your understanding that you will need to keep an eye on the forecast and dress for unpredictable weather when you reserve space on any of our tours.

Please reserve your tour prior to arrival. We are only open for tours on Saturday and Sunday excepting calendar noted blackout dates. Guests who arrive without a reservation may not get the desired time slot.

Guests are not permitted to touch or come into contact with any animal throughout the tour. For the safety of both visitors and resident animals, any attempt to come in contact with the cats will result in being asked to leave without a refund.

All toys, food, and enrichments are carefully chosen as part of our Animal Care Program. We do not permit outside toys or food for the safety of our animal residents.

Consider a donation add-on if you would like to provide meals for the cats that week.
