Central Florida Animal Reserve – Post Storm Update

Thanks to everyone who has been providing prayers and well wishes for Hurricane Matthew.  We are happy to report that all residents (human and animal!) are doing fine.  Thanks to a phenomenal effort by volunteers and staff, the facility was able to withstand the storm with no damage to enclosures or perimeters.  We continue to experience widespread power outages based on location, but remain in contact via functioning cell towers.  Teams are actively contacting volunteers to check in on their safety.

Hurricane Matthew skirted the coast starting late last night. It is reported that it took a northeast turn and weakened slightly just before the Brevard coast, lessening the area of effect from initial expectations.  As of now, the main part of the storm has passed, but we continue to experience high wind gusts and heavy rain.
We will continue to provide updates as well as information on how you can help aid the recovery effort.  On behalf of everyone at Central Florida Animal Reserve, thanks again for all the support!
