Animal Care

Our animal care team is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and overall well-being of our residents. Duties include feeding and monitoring nutrition, observing animals for signs of illness or injury, administering medications, and maintaining clean and safe living environments. They also provide behavioral enrichment through activities that stimulate mental and physical health, keep detailed records of animal care, and assist with habitat maintenance.

Tour Operations

Duties include, but are not limited to, completing the SOP for opening and closing of the Visitor Center, process guest check-ins, positive guest interactions, money handling, selling of merchandise, and maintaining current inventory of merchandise.

Requirements

Completion of the Online Application as the first step in the process. Participate in an interview with a member of the Volunteer Council. Must attend Volunteer Orientation. You must be over 18 years of age. You will be required to sign a consent to come on the property. Volunteers must be able to work well with people, take direction, and receive evaluation openly. You must exhibit strong attention to detail and be able to read, process, and execute directions both spoken and written in English. Be able to show initiative to perform tasks as assigned to their full completion. Be free of unsafe physical or psychological limitations. Maintain a good attitude.

Work Shifts

Animal Care Every Day: Tuesday - Sunday - 8:00am - 4:00pm (lunch break) Tour Liaison Weekends: Saturdays – 11:00 am – 5:00pm (lunch break) Sundays – 11:00 am – 5:00pm (lunch break) * Visitor Center Staffing will include greeting, answering questions, and checking in program guests, selling merchandise, answering the phones, and booking potential program guests. This is an entirely indoors activity and will require training to participate.
