Group Volunteers

Overview

Group volunteer workdays offer businesses, schools, clubs, and community organizations the opportunity to support the care and conservation work at Central Florida Animal Reserve through hands-on, project-based service. These projects help maintain and enhance the facility that serves as home to CFAR’s big cat residents.

Group volunteering is designed to create meaningful impact while fostering teamwork, collaboration, and community engagement.

Who Can Participate

All groups are welcome, including:

  • Businesses and corporate teams
  • Churches and faith-based organizations
  • Youth groups and clubs
  • Community and service organizations

Age Requirements

  • Participants must be 13 years of age or older
  • Volunteers ages 13–17 must be accompanied by a responsible adult

Roles & Responsibilities

Group volunteers assist with facility and grounds-based projects that directly support the well-being of CFAR’s residents.

Activities may include:

  • Groundskeeping
  • Habitat restoration
  • Light construction
  • Maintenance and repairs

Projects are assigned based on group size, skills, and current facility needs.

Requirements

  • Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team
  • Willingness to take direction and follow CFAR staff guidance
  • Ability to perform basic physical tasks including standing, bending, reaching, and walking
  • Completion of required group paperwork prior to participation
  • Groups must provide their own transportation to and from the CFAR facility

Specific project requirements and preparation details are shared during scheduling.

Schedule

Group volunteer workdays are scheduled by request and coordinated in advance with CFAR staff.

Shift Options

  • 9:00 am – 12:00 pm
  • 9:00 am – 2:00 pm

Shift length is confirmed based on project scope and group availability.

Training & Supervision

All group volunteer activities are conducted under the supervision of CFAR staff. Prior to beginning work, groups receive a project overview and safety briefing to ensure tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with CFAR procedures.

Important Notes

  • Volunteers will not be in direct contact with any animal residents
  • All activities are supervised by CFAR staff
  • Projects prioritize safety, organization, and positive impact
