Meet Michelob

Michelob, a White Bengal tiger, lounges on his den at Central Florida Animal Reserve in St. Cloud, Florida

  • Birthday: May 5, 2004

  • Species: Bengal Tiger – Panthera Tigris

  • Status: Endangered

Michelob’s story begins in Oregon, where he was was part of a group of white tigers being bred for snow tiger genes.  He was transferred to Florida as a cub and traveled extensively in his youth to South Florida.  His generally mild demeanor earned him a reputation as one of our most affectionate tigers.  Mickey, as we call him, is pretty vocal and will to hold a “conversation” with most anyone.  Curious and affectionate, playful and sweet, Michelob will warm your heart the moment you lay eyes on him.  He spends most of his days lounging about, or spending time with his enclosure-mate Raz.  When he’s not sleeping, he can be seen playing with his favorite toys or saying hello to visitors on our Behind the Scenes tour.

The white and black color is uncommon in the wild, but the white tiger still represents an important ambassador for the species.
